New Issues 2019 (April - June)

This page collects only issues released during the year 2019, period April to June. 

As it is not such obvious as it looks to find this information, this list is probably not yet complete. In certain countries, joint issues are often announced on the day of the issue and sometimes it takes months before this information and the corresponding stamps reach us. Data on missing issues or supplementary information, particularly for countries, which are producing joint issues exceptionally, will be highly appreciated.

Two identical stamps in a souvenir sheet. Painting of Paul Cezanne (1839-1906) “The Marseilles’ gulf seen from the Estaque” (1878/1879) and painting of Jacques Majorelle (1886-1962), “Casablanca, Mohammed V square” (1937); margin is illustrated with the building of the Orsay Museum in Paris, France and the Mohamed VI Modern and Contemporary Art Museum in Rabat, Morocco. Protection of Cultural Heritage 50th anniversary of the Carabinieri Art Squad, in charge of combatting art and antiquities crimes. Twin issue [T1].
Identical stamps. Souvenir sheets with 6 stamps: A, Portrait of a woman (The Wetsuit)" by Raphael Sanzio; B, "Psalter Sheet" of a miniature master of the 16th century; C, "The Gardener" by Vincent van Gogh; D, "Face in ivory" Roman art dating from the 1st century AD; E, "Holy family with a saint" by Andrea Mantegna; F, venue of the Carabinieri Art Squad, located Palazzo Sant’ Ignazio place, 152 in Rome. The margin shows the logo, the "Nativity with the Saints Lorenzo and Francesco of Assisi", a work by Caravaggio stolen in 1969 from the oratory of San Lorenzo in Palermo and not yet found back. Multicolored.

From the 23,000 souvenir sheets created by SMOM, 7,000 items were used for the 04b folder, about 3,000 were provided to the SMOM annual stamp subscribers and 2,000 were provided to the Italian post for creating other official items (CTO, FDCs, …). The remaining 11,000 were not made available to stamp collectors and apparently directly sold to dealers. This is another reason to consider SMOM issues as not relevant beside this postal office still not officially recognized by UPU.
